Where does FCE Ultra store its save states?
Hi there,
I recently got a new computer with Ubuntu rather than Windows, and I obviously want to bring my old save states over. Here are my questions:
1) Does anybody know if a save state created by JNes can be run by FCE Ultra?
2) If so, where does FCE Ultra store its save states, and under what name, so I can know where to place the files?
3) If not, does anybody know an alternative Linux-based NES emulator that will read those save states?
Re: Where does FCE Ultra store its save states?
I got Ubuntu 9 I never could find where it saved anything at LOL.
For this Emulator I download Wine 1.1.39
Wine lets you run Windows software on other operating systems. With Wine, you can install and run these applications just like you would in Windows.
Wine is still under active development. Not every program works yet, however there are already several million people using Wine to run their software.

It will play Fce Ultra really good but you may have some sound problems.
try FCEUX it's the new FCE ultra under a different name.
Go to Download then download the Latest Interim Build

FCE Ultra works perfectly fine under Ubuntu; you're answering the opposite question to the one I have.
I've been using JNes on Windows for a long time, and now I'm using Ubuntu. I want to transfer my saved game as well. I very easily found where JNes stored its saved games; what I'm trying to do is figure out how to get FCEUltra to recognize and load that save state.
Re: Where does FCE Ultra store its save states?
Go to the Ubuntu Forums :)
Re: Where does FCE Ultra store its save states?
F5 saves
F7 loads
there are several slots to save the game
you select them with the 1-9 keys
Re: Where does FCE Ultra store its save states?
~/.fceultra/sav
(If you're new to linux, ~ is your home folder, and folders with a . at the beginning are hidden.)
had to find it myself (since the rest of the net is full of useless non-answers like those above :p)
