I have Windows XP with 448 shared Ram with a AMD 1.8 Sempron Processor 3200+
I have some games that will lag like 1 to 5 FPS if I was to add 1 gig or more would that fix it.

If you take XP to 512 it load the entire kernal in mem, big improvement. Taking it to 1 gig will most certainly help, anything more IMO is silly unless you plan on opening many apps.
ok thanks
More RAM isn't going to make an unplayable game playable.
The game plays just not at 60 FPS more like 55 FPS the computer can't keep up with it
That's either a CPU or GPU (or both combined) limitation.
The only thing RAM will effect is how fast you load your levels, and very rarely it may help with some stuttering issues during gameplay if your system is stressed just enough to need more. But for general playability you won't get a boost to constant FPS performance without upgrading the CPU or GPU or both. Also I don't know why you would be complaining about 55 FPS performance. That's a pretty decent amount. Most games are very playable at around 30fps as it is.
