Im currently in the process of getting a .IMG file of this game. Im just wondering do i just need the .IMG to run it in ePSX, like an ISO file cause i have never used a .IMG file before.

You will need a cd rom emulator like Daemon Tools to use the .IMG file.
Once you have that there should be no problem using it as long as the file you are downloading is good.
