I found this and my kid really likes it so I want to share it with the moms and dads out there.
Tux Paint is a free, award-winning drawing program for children ages 3 to 12 (for example, preschool and K-6 in the US, key stages 1 & 2 in the UK). It combines an easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who guides children as they use the program.

Don't have any kids of my own, but friends' bring theirs, and it's pretty interesting and eye-catching - even grew found of it myself... LOL
Reminds me of a favorite paint program I once had for the Atari ST (though not as colorful nor fancy but similar layouts and format)...
I'm a nut for anything with color and paint... Great find. ;)

Yeah, that too. Though hate to admit it, the little guests were more fond of Mario Paint then Tux Paint - but again, we're comparing a program to of a video game... ;)Quote:

I wouldn't call Mario Paint a video game so much.. It was modeled after MS Paint and the like after all.. Sure it has fun elements and probably has some game type activities but in the end of the day its just a paint program..
Tho I remember the music thing being entertaining too.. Someone made a RickRoll for it on Youtube, haha

Guess I should re-clarify that, from "a video game" to "a tool". Mario Paint was and still is bad to this day - a composers' and artists' haven (though back then what sucked was lack of space to save your work upon, though by with today's emulation - "Print Screen" and "Sound Recorder" works wonders). Remember a time of tuning the intro of "Smoke In The Water" (plus a few other popular songs) while using the animation tool to make humorous comic strips... Yeah, tis was fun - even probably for a keyboarder such as your self... ;)Quote:

There are a lot of covers on Youtube that are ridiculously good. I saw a Dragon Force cover that was insane, as well as a Metallica - One cover. I think someone took the musical composing part of Mario Paint and made a stand-alone tracker with the same interface and everything, except easier to export and import songs. I think it was just simply called Mario Sequencer. It was pretty neat.
