epsxe control issue

I'm playing Einhander on epsxe. It's a shooter game made by square.

There are two buttons for fire. I usually just hold them down both. However, if I do that, I can't use the control pad to move the ship. I can move the ship if I hold down one fire button though. Is there any way around this? Thanks.

have you played in a real psx to see if it does the same? sometimes the controls can be just like a pc keyboard - you can't press many buttons at once or most will fail.

I'd try it with another emulator that support input plugins unlike ePSXe: PSXeven or SSPSX, for example.

ok thanks. I figured out a way. I just assigned both fire buttons to one key on the keyboard.
