MAME ISSUES

Can someone help me with an issue on MAME. I can play some systems, on MAME with no issues
However on a few Apple II GS, Game Mate, Mega Duck, and MAttell Aquarius (amongst others) I get this error message
(LUA ERROR) in run: plugins\boot.lua:11: a
attempt to index a function value (Field options)
Can someone tell me what is happening, and what I need to do to fix it ?

MAME is really buggy, however... when you installed it, did you just copy over the exe, or did you unzip all the other files that come with it?

I unzipped everything and copied newer files over old. I am using the latest versions of everything.

What version of MAME? There was a bug similar to that for a short while, but it got fixed.
Version 248 will be out in a few days.
If the problem still exists, try an entirely clean new installation into a new folder. One of the old files might be the cause of the issue.

Okay downloaded the new version, fresh install, still not working I get this. "The selected software is missing one more required files. Please select another software.
But the entire rom is in the directory, at least I think it is the entire rom.
