snes9x emulator problem. pleasse help me.

Im running kirbys dream land 3 with a mac emulator called snes9x. For some reason im having a bit of a graphics problem and i cant see any doors or items when im underwater. i tried fooling around in the graphic settings and nothing changed. can somebody help me please ?

Make sure transparency is on and 16-bits is enabled.
