Do you store your data on Windows my documents ?
If yes/no, why ?

Myself: NO! its dangerous!!! Last time my data was perfectly safe on D: when C: partition where the windows (XP) is broken.

Then why my document still around ? i don't know on Vista, some people say it use some kind scramble data place protection. Is my document still there ?

I have two partitions, C: and D:. When I'm going to format the C: drive, I move all important files to D:.

I use mydocuments all the time. Never had any real issue with it. Chances are if your partition goes, it won't matter where it is stored anyway.

You can right-click on My Documents folder and move it to another drive.

I always format instead of installing Windows over the old one.

Using Windows XP for 5 years and doesn't know it :o

I always format instead of installing Windows over the old one.

That means you also reinstalling other program then reconfigured it again. I'm to lazy for that :).

BTW, my XP lifespan between reinstalling about 6 months and i think its short compared with the other but reasonable because of high install-uninstall activity.
