I have a problem with a PSX CD (it usually overheats and starts to stutter), kinda like when you use a new game on an old system.
I've searched for an answer for this for a while, and I read that using an image (instead of the CD) would stop the stuttering problem and let the game flow smoother
I haven't used MagicISO before, so I'm not sure which format I should use and if it would work on ePSXe

Low Quality disc?
anyway, dump the CD with iso buster or blind read, save as raw bin/iso/cue
mount with daemon tools and you're done.
----edit-----
or you could duplicate the CD to a slightly more heat resistant Disc.

No, the CD is PS black-label original
Thanks anyway guys, ISObuster worked (Magic ISO strangely didn't)

Dang, it still grinds very slowly (the speed of the game goes down 2 minutes into the game-play)
Maybe because I'm playing on a laptop (although I've played several games, and this is the first time I've had this problem)
Anyone have a better idea?

you are playing using the ISO right?
Which emulator and plugins are you using?
And what game are you trying to play?

The game is Legend of Legaia, the problem only occurs in the battle mode (screen goes into slow-motion and sometimes even stops)
When I used MagicISO to make an image, when it asked me which type of output to be used I made an ISO image (the other choices were Nero, BIN, and UIF).
But it didn't work so I used IsoBuster and (I didn't know what to do exactly) I made the command "Extract CD <image>" --> RAW (*.bin* *.Iso*). It gave me a (oh crap) ".bin" file which is exactly similar to what the game was like (slow-motion and all)
