View Full Version : VBA OpenGL problems

Hello!
I've been using VBA for several years now, but all of the sudden the OpenGL render option started to fail - I've always been using this method.

I'm running Windows Vista but I could swear that OpenGL was working before. I also didn't make any changes to my VBA configuration besides changing the directory names.

The thing is that when I'm using OpenGL to render the video my screen is completely black (or rather, the VBA emu window) - the game is emulated properly as I can hear the music and sounds and can even navigate through the menus or play (blindly ;-). I've switched to Direct3D for now, but I'd like to know if anyone has encountered similar problems.

P.S. I have a second copy of the VBA - the multiplayer version. Since it's using another .ini file I doubt that any changes in the settings are faulty as I can't seem to get the OpenGL output to work in this version either.

Update: OOOO-K... I just had a so-called WTF-experience... I did about nothing - I've downloaded the newest version of VBA Link (I had an old one) and suddenly OpenGL is working again - just as abruptly as it stopped working before. 0_o You may think "yeah, this guy's an idiot, he should've installed the newest version in the first place" but that would be rude. I had the newest VBA (not VBA Link) version in my other directory all the time and OpenGL started working THERE (just as it stopped working before) as well although the only shared directory between the two VBAs is the ROM directory... Like I said before - WTF? ;-)
