View Full Version : How come there's no intro sounds in Super SF2?

I'm using MAME32, and I've noticed that when Ryu's doing his little fireball dance in the SSF2 (or SSF2X) intro, there's no sound or music like there was in the home console versions. Even when it goes to a game demo there's no attract sounds. Once you 'insert coins' the sound is fine, but I just thought it odd that the intro is silent.
Anyone else found the same thing? Please bear in mind I am very new to MAME, so if I've missed something please let me know. Cheers. :)

Once you have booted the game press F2 to enter service mode. Scroll down to configuration and select it. Then go to demo sound and turn it on. Exit and return to game and the demo sounds will be working.

Ah! That's done it. Many thanks. :)
Sorry for all the daft questions of late. I've just started getting into MAME, and it's very different to using console emulators. My thanks again to you FatTrucker, for not getting annoyed with silly questions from a newbie.

No worries. Everyone has had to learn from the beginning at some point. ;)
