Hard drive for PS2 machine

i've ps2 machine but my optical drive was broken, so i can't use the dvd's program anymore. Can i use hard drive to change the optical drive ?:confused:
what should i do to have it worked ?:confused:

no.. i dont think that will work. A ps2 console will only read ps2 dvds/cds.
