epsxe 1.60 Linux

I'm trying out linux and like to know which distribution is best to use this emulator on? my machine to be installed on is

Amd +2400
Dfi Ad77
Ati Radeon X700 Pro 256 mb
Onboard Sound
256 System memory

if you're new to linux, generally you should start with Ubuntu

That Ubuntu seems better then simply mepis. I got SSSpsx to play at normal speed with wine and Eternal,E}l{ soft driver And Pcsx windows. but No Vsync lol.
