My keyboard isn't working with emulator!

I've everything I need. the starting credits appear smoothly and the sound is ok too but my key board keys dont respond to the game! I've tried to set them through the configuration and I've set them according to my need but the keys that I've set do not work for the game! actually NONE of the keys work:(
