ePSXe Sound Plug-in

I'm playing FF7 on ePSXe, and I've tried a few different sound plug-ins.. all of them irritate me during some point. The sound is way off from what it is if I played it on a playstation during some points in the game, such as entering combat, explosions, or players attacking enemies.
Can anyone suggest a good plug-in that doesn't distort the sound?

i'm using ePSXe SPU core 1.5.2. on epsxe 1.5.2 and it works fine. Try that.
