Need help with N64 Emulator

Hey, im relatively new to this emulator business. i downloaded 1964 and a few roms, but when i go to play the games it says no controller connected and i cant seem to use the keyboard and mouse! any advice??

Check the controller plugin under the options menu if the controller is enabled.
