Problem with Killer instinct

Hi i am new to this but i have tried using mame version .90
and i also tried the ultra 64 but i cant get either to work
I have all the files including the .chd
maybe i am doing it wrong?
when i use the mame i put the .chd in a sepertae folder and all but still it doesnt work.
with ultra 64 i need to convert to a img file, but nekkid.com isnt around any more.
i would like to use it on mame so can someone give me some info?

Name the rom kinst and place the chd (also name kinst) in a folder called kinst.

Also, start the game by picking it from the "All Game List" or "Working Game List".

It will not show up in your "Avaliable Game List".
