FF8 Rom Help

Ok, so I got the ff8 rom up and running, but I have one problem. When I'm in fights, I can't see the battle menu or my health or anything. I can only see the enemies and my party. Anybody know a way to make the menu and hp and stuff show up?

Don't use OpenGL. Use D3D instead. Also this has been asked countless of times. Next time use the search feature.

Well, when I use D3D, it says, No WGL extensions or w/e.

Hold on, I dled another d3d, so lemme try it real fast, this one is working for some reason.

Ok, Im using the D3D, and it isnt working. Still cant see the menus.
