View Full Version : pSX is supposed to emulate perfectly?

So I got this "awesome" pSX emulator to fix the minor sound lag problems when playing FF7 on SSSPSX or ePSX... and yeah, in-game it works perfectly! But what the heck, the FMV movies are lagging, especially when played full-screen!
What can I do about that? I'd rather have some sound slowdown from time to time than glitchy FMVs...

What game is it?
I have never had 'ANY' problems with pSX.
It's not perfect infact its very far from perfect but it is a GOOD emulator.
There is no way to fix that, to my knowledge.
You could try unchecking frame skipping.

I think it might have something to do with me playing on a laptop that doesn't support 100 hz frequency, which is the standard for PAL games.
Everything works fine except the movie lagging...
Well, what I want is to play FF7 as if it was on a real playstation... in fullscreen and stuff. So which emulator and plugins would be best to use then?

ePSXe 1.5.2
Petes OpenGL
Eternal SPU
Before you play the game make sure you click
Config>>Audio>>Configure
and make sure enable the special game fix.
If you have any problems with it do a search of the
forum first because ANY question you could possibly think
of have been answerd and thats what we will tell ya!
But for the most part if you do these things it should work
very near perfect!! Better then pSX anyway

Blaah... now the old sound lag is back, it's just as when I play on the regular ePSXe... still working on it though... did you say AUDIO fix?
I guess you meant the battle whirl fix in the video plugin... which doesn't work btw.

Everything's perfectly tuned but still laggy.
I use Eternal SPU 1.41 with Square game fix enabled and
Pete's OpenGL Driver 1.76 with FF7 fix, everything's configured
correctly with FPS limit and FPS auto-detect, though it still lags.
AAAARGH! There must be some solution!
I can get rid of the sound lag somewhat by frameskipping, but
then the graphics mess up instead... I know this isn't my PC's
fault because pSX ran the game perfectly... except for the FMVs of course.
Also, the battle whirl effect won't show up even if I use the fix...

No I mean the special game fix for SQUARE GAMES!
Click Config>>Sound>>Configure Tab then under Special game fix check the box nest to Update before accessing register.

I never had FMV problems with either pSX and ePSXe. It's all in the configuration.

i've had this same problem before. the solution is just use Peops software GPU: http://www.emulator-zone.com/download.php/emulators/psx/plugins/graphics/peops/gpupeopssoftwin117.zip
