minish cap release problem

I'm playing minish cap on vba em and i'm in the mt. crenel area where you pick up a seed as a small link and place it over a hole then revert to big link. The problem is, I can't release the seed over the hole. When I place the seed I fall into the hole or I can't release the seed. I use the "A" button or the "R" button but they won't release the seed. Thanks
