i used to have one of these emulators when i was younger but i don't remember how to download games to play them.

i downloaded the emulator and it works, i can open it and such, but i need to find where i can download games so i can play them.

i am really wanting to play chrono trigger.

please help.

ROMs are illegal to download, so we cannot help you with that.

i remember like 5 years ago i could download games so i could play them on the emulator? since when did this become illegal?

It's been always like that. All I have to say is that you have to use Google or some other method to get them. Specific steps are not allowed.
