Having problems emulating Final Fantasy 8 with epsxe, i get a blank screen whilst loading. Ive read some of the posts from previous posts and still no avail

System specs

3500+ AMD 64
2GB Dual Channel Ram (4*512mb)
6600 GT PCI-express gfx
Creative audigy 2 sound card
tried from original cd PAL version
Blank screen!

tried lowering petes 2.8 gl2 plugin to fast no avail
tried turning sound off - nope
tried petes cdr plugin-nope (tried original)
tried making a alcohol 120% mds file and mounted with daemon tools nope

screen starts at 0000.0 fps then increases to 0050.0 fps then hangs at a black screen and get the usual windows hang icon on the task bar

also tried ppf patches from mega games not a change infact its worse hang:fuckyou:

I can only put it down to two things The original CD is scratched/knackered in someway or its the drive i am using!

if anyones got any ideas than the above please help:o

Try ePSXe 1.5.2.

Older versions work most of the time.

Try with other plugins. FFVIII works for me.

pSX will run anything.

Try the DirectX graphics plugins for ePSXe. Even try PSXeven.

Try using Petes OpenGL plugin instead of OpenGL2. Also you shouldn't mount the ISO, if you have it saved you can just use Run ISO to play the game.

Original version will not work. Have to use a backed up PPF patched ISO.
Make sure you get the right PPF patch for the game or else your not getting anything but the black screen...

Should be able to find it there.
