Need help with castlevania sotn

Hi this will be my first emulation if I can get it to work so please bear with my noobieness.
I downloaded the epsxe emulator as well as the sotn game via paid torrent and I am trying to figure out how to get them to work. I've already downloaded the bios and plugins for the emulator but I cant figure out how to get the game going from there. Inside my torrent file I got two mdf files with the same name and thats it. Only one has 592,562 kb of data and the other only has 1. Can anyone please help to get this emulation thing off the ground?

One of the files is a .mds instead of a .mdf. Load the smallest with Daemon Tools (http://www.daemon-tools.cc/dtcc/announcements.php) and select your virtual drive in ePSXe.

Okay I did that but I am still running into problems.
Now the emulator begins to run but after a few seconds of loading the black dos screen says "error reading cd:0, 2, 16" and "error reading cd: 0, 2, 0" and then stops loading. any advice?

Be sure to assign the drive letter of your virtual device on the CD-ROM configuration.
