Dialog Problem in Games

Hi, I've been playing Grandia and now trying out Valkyrie Profile on epsxe 1.6. I am having a problem with the dialogs being cut off midsentence. The character would say some thing but it kind of gets glitchy and cuts of midsentence only to resume again afterwards. It was like this throughout all of Grandia and now its happening with Valkyrie Profile too! Does anyone have any idea as to how to fix this. I can read the subs that go along with the voices but it just gets really annoying at some point =( Oh and I config the emulator just like the instructions given on one of the thread and aside from this problem, everything else is fine.
