Newzealand story wont launch

Ok ive been trying to get the newzealand story to work on mame32 version 0.80. This is the first time im using an emulator so im pretty green :rolleyes: Ive started the emulator and copied the zipped roms into the rom directory, but when I try to launch the game it says:

b53-07.7 NOT FOUND
b53-06.6 NOT FOUND
b53-05.5 NOT FOUND
b53-04.4 NOT FOUND
b53-03.3 NOT FOUND
b53-02.2 NOT FOUND
b53-01.1 NOT FOUND



So im missing some files but I have no clue which ones and where to look. Could anyone possibly help me out?

You might be missing a base ROM the game depends on. Check that you're using VERSION 1 of the ROM.

Version 1? How do you check that?

The rom is called Tnzsb

I think the "B" might mean it's ROM B, which depends on ROM A. Often a game comes in lots of versions - version B might only replace certain parts of A, like a patch sort of, and so still depends on A.

Naah the B is for bootleg version

There are 3 versions of this game.

The Japaneese version. used a rom called: Tnzs
The world version also called bootleg :Tnzsb
Newzealand story 2 :Tnzs2

Maybe the bootleg depends on tnzs to reduce wosname... redundancy.

tnzs is 431KB, while tnzsb is only 91KB. Clearly it depends on tnzs.
