well i just installed the project 64 emulator. then when i opened it, and selected the language, a message box said "Direct3D failed to initialize. error code 8876086A D3DERR_NOTAVAILABLE. what does that mean? then after clicking ok, it says "the default or selected video plugin is missing or invalid. Check that you have at least one compatible plugin file in your plugin folder

It looks like you don't have the required DirectX version or you have disabled 3D acceleration. Run dxdiag (Start --> Run) and check if 3D acceleration is disabled.

it says "not available" and next to it is a disabled "disable" button. do i need to install 3D acceleration? and if so, where can i get it?

That's why I need your system specs (processor, memory, etc). To get 3D acceleration you must buy a 3D acceleration video card (nVidia and ATI are the two leader companies on that field).

oh then nm. my dad just bought me a geforce anyways. it says it has 3d accerlaton availbale. thanks for the help though.

hey i get the same problem. do the grahics cards cost money and how do i get them?
