[REQUEST] Recommended VBA Settings for Low-End PC's

I have been looking for some recommended settings to help me run VBA to emulate a GBA game on my low-end laptop with the best possible performance as I do not fully understand all of the given VBA options. If anyone could help me out I would greatly appreciate it.

There are many factors that can improve performance:

Use an earlier version of VisualVoyAdvance (1.7 should do).
Frame skipping (above 4 or 6, though it won't be comfortable due to the lack of smoothness).
Low resolution (320x240).
Low sound sample rate (11 KHz).
VSync disabled.
No screen stretching.
Avoid the use of filters and video enhancements.
