Hello, i'm sort of new to all this so bare with me please.
Here's the story: I have configured the emulator and am all set. I inserted my Final Fantasy VIII CD, and played for about half hour, worked beautifully (Thanks to your great tutorials!). Now, I would like to play without using the CD, it makes my laptop far to hot to use the CD.
I downloaded CDBurnerXP Pro, and saved the files into a .ISO File.
I then run my PSX emulator, and go to RUN > ISO File. The screen "flickers" and then the screen goes black (it seems to be trying to load the file, but i'm not sure).
I was wondering if someone could help me out, thanks alot guys, and keep up the great work. =)

Make a disk image with Alcohol 120% or CloneCD.
It'll be fine.
You may use ISOBuster (http://www.isobuster.com/cdrecovery/) too.
I expect feedback.

Insert your CD into your PC CDrom drive or open a CD image with ISOBuster, right click on CD, move your mouse over Extract CD < Image > then move your mouse to RAW (*.bin, *.iso) and click it, give the *.bin file a filename and click on Save..
Does this help ?

EDIT: Scratch that, I believe it is saving as .ISO now. I'll post again if it doesn't open in PSX emulator, if that's okay.

If it doesn't work for you...use the other software like the two I said earlier..

It ended up saving it as 3 seperate files, one was .cue.
I'll follow your suggestion on trying another software, hope this works. <3

WAIIIIIIIIIIIIIT !
.BIN .BWT .CUE
That's it! You made it.
Now go to File -> Run ISO,choose the .bin file and play!
Or mount that .cue with Daemon Tools.

You will make it eventually. :D
If you use DT...File -> RUN CD-ROM.

Haha, OKAY! This is what i'm going to do. I'm gonna' put the CD in, try extracting those 3 files again using ISOBuster, then try and use Daemon Tools to run the uh... .CUE
EDIT: Ok from extracting the 3 files I get a .CDT, .CUE, and one that I can't find the file type for, but it is called FinalFantasyVII (what I named it when I saved it, and also I right clicked and went to the properties and it just says File Type: Type)

Use Alcohol 120%.
Trial lasts a month...More than you need for a image file.

What happens after 1 month when I wanna' try getting FFVII or something. =(

Hey if you make that image today...it'll last a lifetime...or as long as you don't format your PC.Does not depend on Alchohol 120%.

With IsoBuster, choose the drive with your PSX dics, then right click the "CD" icon on the left ->"Extract CD <Image>" -> RAW (*.bin *.iso) -> name your bin file, and in some seconds you'll get a nice CUE-BIN image. Remember to save the CUE file when asked
You can also use Nero

When I used ISOBuster following that exact method, it does not save .BIN and .CUE. I end up with 3 files..
.CUE
.CDT
.FILE (?)
I'm trying to use Alcohol 120%, and i'm not understanding how to use it. Could someone help me out?
If anyone knows of any other programs that create .BIN and .CUE please let me know, because ISOBuster is not working, and i've yet to finish using Alcohol yet.
EDIT: So far Alochol has let me saved the game as .. .MDF and .MDS

You are obviously doing something wrong.
I'll come back tomorrow and see if you made it.
Try CloneCD (choose game option) and Nero 6 or 7 if you got them.

Is ISOProducer a black sheep or something? It's freeware and creates ISOs as a single file. Really easy to use. I've burned 9 ISOs using it and they all work perfectly.

Alright, but I don't think it would hurt to know. I don't know about other commercial progs, but I own Nero and I found ISOProducer easier to use between the two.

It doesn't hurt to know.
But you said ISOBuster is a black sheep...:D
Maybe the guy simply cannot get around it and wants to choose other software that comes in handy.

I said ISOProducer was a black sheep, not ISOBuster (or are they the same?). And I said that ISOProducer was a black sheep because no one mentioned it as a possibility yet. Point I meant was just keep all options open.

I think the problem is about properly configuring the CDr plugin. Try Sapu or Xeven
