Help With Playing Roms And CD's On ePSXe

Ok I have a couple of problems with running games on ePSXe. First thing is that I can not play ROMs I downloaded on it. I just goes to the black screen when I select Run CDROM I does not let me select the rom. Second when I play CDROM Games, it speeds up the Cut-Scenes and does not play sound. Can somebody plz help me with this stuff.

If the game is too fast, configure the video plugin (I recommend any of Petes) to limit the FPS. Check the box and either config to autodetect the framerate or manually make it 50-60.

For sounds, just try different plugins. Eternal SPU is very compatible but try them all.

ePSXe runs with .ISO's,not roms.

Hit File - Run ISO and select the .iso or bin file you got.
To Run CDROM you either have to run a real CDROM on your drive or mount the image with Daemon Tools.
Concerning speed do as Xiedo said.
Or check Limit Framerate and set Framerate to 60. (autodetect doesn't have great results always)

ABout sound, make sure you've enabled XA, ADPCM and CDDA sound (Config -> Sound) on both ePSXe and SPU plugin

Ok thx guys I got it to work. But now that I know I need ISO's what do I do with the ROM I downloaded? Can I still play it?

What rom have you downloaded ?
Don't tell where you go it from...against the rules.

That's a PlayStation game.
It's not a rom,maybe a disc image. (.iso,bin+.cue,.mdf+.mds etc...).
