what was the first GBA emulator that successfully played commercial games? and how long did it take(from the release of the GBA till the first successful emulator)?

It was VisualBoyAdvance and if I'm not mistaken it took around a year to run a few commercial games.

I think it was PlayBoyAdvance on MAC a few months, perhaps even lesss, after GBA official launch.

On PC Windows computers I believe it was DreamGBA a bit later, but worked much better. BTW its coder Kervin unfortunately died last year after a terrible disease if I'm not mistaken. May he rest in peace

I thought that VisualBoyAdvance already could play some demos before the launch of the GBA and that it didn't take more than a couple of months to run commercial games.
Anyone knows when the GBA was launched?

Could be in 2002 as the official website mentioned. :rolleyes:
