finding emulator help!

hello all ima newbie here, i have been having trouble finding an emulator..i had one that worked on my old computer it was virtual game station but it wont work on my new dell

here are some general stat if it helps?
1 gig or ram
2.8 ghz pentium 4
GeForce fx 5500

but i just cant find a playstation emulator that will work on this comp....anyone have any suggestions

i tryed epsxe and it didnt work on my computer....i saw there was a comfiguration tool to download on the link that you gave me...is that necessary for the emulator to work properly?
