S-video help

I got a dell Inspirn 5150 laptop. its got this adapter to xpand to a s-video, digital video so now i plug the s-video to my tv rite, but all i see is my desktop wallpaper. nothing else. if i change the wall paper, all i see is the new one. how do i see my whole screen on tv?

my alienware has a hotkey for it (func+f4) but you should be able to make it so that you can display your tv as your main and your laptop screen as the backup. simply right click the desktop, go to properties, then click on the settings tab. above (or near) the screen resolution slider you should see a picture of 2 monitors. simply click on the one that represents your tv (the second monitor) and select set as my primary display blah blah thingy. then it should swith over.

Sorry it did not work on my laptop but it did on my desktop both are dell
