well if at any point its not to be talk about I understand.
goodgba 2.01 is missing roms. That is all I will say. I cant get tosec working, and rom doctor seems to hate me. I need a full rom renamer for my gba that knows more roms then goodgba 2.01, is there one? If tosec is better I wll register on their site to download it.

GoodGBA has not been updated for a very long time. TOSEC has no GBA. You can use the No-Intro dat (http://gbadat.altervista.org). You will need ClrMame (http://www.clrmame.com) or RomCenter (http://www.romcenter.com) to use it. ClrMame is better IMHO, but RomCenter is easier to use.
Good luck :)

Goodtools and the datfiles check and rename the ROMs you have. In this way you can see which ROMs you have and which ones you're missing. Some can also fix your ROMs. I'm a collector (about 400GB of ROMs), so this is very important to me. If you take f.e. the No-Intro dats, they only contain perfect dumps of commercial games. In this way they will be preserved when the original consoles are gone.

I'm just the same as, alcoatjez. I too are a collector. I could not live without ClrMame are the good tools.
alcoatjez? will the No-Intro dat's work with goodmerge? rather, will romcenter or ClrMame(this is a no I 100% on) make a have file so I can use it with goodmerge. At least I think thats all I need. Goodmerge has up to date xmdb files.

You can make a have.txt file with all your ClrMame dats. But in the No-Intro sets there are not so many similar files. For example in GoodSnes you would have Final Fantasy VI (J) and perhaps about 6 versions which differ only a few bytes. In the No-Intro dat you would only have Final Fantasy VI (J). Therefore GoodMerging your No-Intro sets does not have the big advantages as with the GoodSets.

I didnt think ClrMame would do this. I have not play'd with it yet. But also would not have a clue how. I'm guessing its in the scanner options. If you have a write up some where please let me know.

Scan your set. Afterwards, right-click on the scanner window and choose 'Miss/have list'.

All my ROMs are zipped. I don't use GoodMerge, since I don't really collect Goodsets. I have almost all of them, but I rather use No-Intro sets.

the reason I asked is that I had 600 gig, before 7z ing all of them. Now I just use qplay to play them and I get to keep them all 7z'd up. So its only 70 gig or so. Godda love that compression.

Yes, but since the No-Intro sets do not contain so much similar files (hacked, fixed, translated) they don't GoodMerge so good. No-Intro only contains commercially released ROMs.
