For some time now I've been thinking of returning to the world of online games. After some careful thinking Guild Wars came to me as a choice mostly due to the way they handle the game fee issue(you buy the game and that's it & no online fee, just buy each expansion/upgrade).
Since I'll most likely start playing it in a few weeks I've been meaning to ask, do we have any Guild Wars players here and if we do, would you consider starting a small guild within the game that will consist of members of this forum?
I look forward to hear what all of you have to say :)

I was considereing getting it a while ago, but I dislike how you only see other players in cities and you can only see group members when you go into places. : \

There is PvP as well though the "RPG" part is better. Anyway, I was thinking that teaming up with people you know should be easier than using complete strangers.
Keep in mind that we can start this only if several people are intrested.

I really need to let out a small vent so excuse me in advance.
When your team leader tells you to stay behind so he can lure the enemies to you slowly THEN DON'T BE AN IDIOT AND JUST DO IT.
That's all I had to say really.

OK, I'm downloading this game...
EDIT: Umm... the graphics look somehow extreme. Can my computer run it?

I saw the specs in your profile but I will post the official ones here.
Required System Specs:
Windows XP/2000/ME/98
800 MHz Pentium III or equivalent
256 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 8500 or GeForce 3 or 4 MX with 32MB of video memory
2 GB hard drive space
Internet connection
DirectX 8.0
Recommended System Specs:
Windows XP/2000/ME/98
Pentium III 1GHz or equivalent
512 MB RAM
ATI Radeon 9000 or GeForce 4 Ti Series with 64MB of video memory
2 GB free hard drive space
Internet connection
DirectX 8.0
My Comments:
You WILL need more hard disk space eventually.
Though they claim the game to be running well on a 56k modem, broadband is recommended.
To make an account you have the choice of using the game's build in system or www.plaync.com. Use the website to make an account as it will allow you to manage your information alot better(& change an email address when you want to).
YES, the game does not have a monthly fee.

Anyone interested in testing out the new chapter, Guild Wars Nightfall, should visit this page (http://www.guildwars.com/support/NWPE_Keys.php). The client is FREE and you can use the test KEYS in that page to create an account.
The beta weekend will last from today, Friday 22nd until Sunday the 24th.
Please note that after the initial streaming the client will download game data as you play. My current data file is almost 3GB so that is currently the maximum you can expect to download(unless new data are streamed).
** UPDATE **
The start of the Nightfall World Preview Event will be delayed by a few hours. We’ve discovered a corruption in the archives, and we’re pulling a full backup, after which we will then examine the error, make a correction, and the event will be on its way. At this point, we anticipate that the event will not start before 5:00 a.m. PDT (Noon GMT). We will update as soon as we have further information. Thank you for your patience and understanding.
