Ok i am ruuning my disk on epsxe with the d3d graphic plug in. The quality is not what i want it to be, so i try the opengl. But the game runs at snails pace but it looks good.

Now is it correct that the open gl looks better than the D3D?

And is this due to the lack of hardware capabilities on my system or is it a setting that i need to play with?

(radeon 9600 128 mb, 512 mb ram)

Yes it is. But OpenGL needs good graphic card to make game runs smooth.

How about your CPU processor then? It may run well on your PC though.

I am running off a basic Pentium 4 2.8 gHz.

If this can't handle it, then i am goign to use my other but i have been trying to keep my dream machine (my new computer) free of anything but actual PC games.

(Pentium D 3.2, 4 GB Ram, Dual GeForce 7800 GTXs 256 mb each)

It should run well. Try to click on 'Nice' setting on Pete's GPU plugin. :)

ePSXe -> "Config" -> "Video" -> select "Pete's D3D/OGL/OGL2" (whatever you're using) -> "Configure" -> "Nice" button (at lower left corner)
