hi everyone i need a little help, I'm looking for an Original Nintendo 64 Controller (Nintendo Brand). I would like it to be new, but I could deal with used as long as its in mint condition. I'd like to purchase one to use on Project64 but i can't find any. i've used google and even ebay and all i find are 3rd party controllers. The only one i found is this one (http://store.nintendo.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?currency=USD&storeId=10001&jspStoreDir=NOASTORE&productId=15251&categoryId=14753&langId=-1&catalogId=10001&ddkey=SetCurrencyPreference)
but it doesn't give much information on it. like if its new or used or anything. it is the official nintendo store but i don't know. and $24.95 is a bit expensive right? so if anyone can help me find a original nintendo 64 controller at a good price i would really appreciate it. thanks to all that help me.

I needed the same thing. I have a n46 usb adapter that wont work with off brand n64's or the new rev of the n64 controllers. Sucks but its true. I have 3 here I cant use :( .. Best places I have found are Ebay, and your local Game stop. GameStop lest you return with a recipt so you can try as many as you like ;) That is if you are in search for the same reason. Other wise Ebay has a few from time to time. And GameStop has a online order form.

I only know that you have to check the analog stick specifically for a 2nd hand N64 controller, since that seems to be the only weak point it has.

hey, I'm using an original n64 controller but with some offbrand usb "converter" that doesn't really work. What kind of controller am I supposed to be using for my computer?

there are two versions of the usb controller out there. The adaptiod and the psx/n64 version. Both versions seem to have the problem with off brand and some original n64 controllers. The symptom is jumpy keys. When you watch this in the joystick control panel the you just see a bunch of flashing buttons. There is only one work around, go to your local gamestop or like store, or ebay and get another. I had to go thru 10 controllers just to find 4 that would work for me. I worked with simon nield (auther or circut), and I was not able to find a work around. My version had the same problem.

Any standard Nintendo brand N64 controller should work with the mentioned adapters for the PC. I have an Adaptoid with a grey controller and it works perfectly. You do need to download the current drivers to take advantage of the Rumble feature among others. I have both kinds of adapters for my PC and the Adaptoid is by far the best one. Good luck finding one though since they're extremely hard to come by. :o
