When I try to adjust my volume, I hear this noise like static, what do I do?

Adjust your volume where, using the speaker dial, or using software in windows ?

If you're using the speaker dial, probably means it's dirty or something like that. My dad's 20+ year old stereo does it like crazy because it's never been cleaned
