View Full Version : Best SNES emulator & how to install it?

I have some questions on what snes emulator is the best one, and how to install it (I'm not very good with computers).

-I will download it onto a computer running Windows XP Professional and them burn it onto a CD and put it on a computer running Windows ME.

1. What emulator is the best/most user friendly?

2. Please post step by step instructions on how to download and install the emulator you think is best and how to download and install games onto that emulator.

Remember, I'm not very good with computers, so I'd appreciate if you simplified the instructions and used computer terms that most people would know.

For SNES I would have to say the ZSNES

It's not hard to use but I'm not about to write you a tutorial. Everything you would need to know you can find on the site ;)

I can't find instructions on the site, and I have downloaded it and since deleted it because I don't know how to put games onto it.

Can anyone help me?

You need these files called roms (those are the games). We can't tell you where to find them though :dry: (sorry)... This forum may not be the best place to help you.

Google is the best answer if you need roms my friend.

I know where to download the roms at ( *REMOVED* ), but I don't know how to put them on the ZSNES.

You can't post nor ask for ROMs here, as you've been told before. Read the Forum Rules (http://forums.emulator-zone.com/rules.php)

Load ROMs? Launch Zsnes, "Game" -> "Load" . For help please read the docs included in the emus, look at the Zsnes readme.htm , and Snes9x readme.txt.

HELP! I downloaded ZSNES, but when I try and open it up it says that 'the compressed folder is invalid or corrupted'. I tried to extract the files but it won't let me.

It might be a 7z file. Try to extract it using WinRAR or 7Zip.

I have the 'snes9XW' available if you search from google, quick and easy, although you will have to search for the ROM's yourself, but it's simple as really, download the emulator, make a 'ROM' directory preferbly in the Snes9XW folder, and to play them (no need to unzip) File----->Load Game----->then search for the folder you saved the 'ROM's' under and it should work perfectly.
