Hi All,

I was wondering if anyone could advise me on optimising my system settings and if there are any harware components I should update/replace in order to emulate games such as Street Alpha 3, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and in general more recent arcade roms?

My system at the moment:
Intel Pentium III 1GHz Processor
128 MB 133MHz SDRAM (motherboard only supports up to 133MHz)
10.2 GB Quantum Fireball lct HDD
NVIDIA GeForce2 MX 400
Windows Me

I have no sound card, so was looking at getting an old SB16 or something.

Currently I have MAME32 installed and the above mentioned games run, but are a bit sluggish. I thought if I added another stick of SDRAM I might be OK, but I'm not sure how much of a difference it will make?

Also, I actually want to use this machine for an arcade cabinet project. I was hoping to run DOSMAME or AdvanceMAME with ArcadeOS as the frontend. Basically I want to boot the system into DOS and straight into the Arcade Frontend and the Emulator.

Any suggestions or tutorials in this regard would be appreciated!!

Cheers,
Paul

PS - Anyone know where I can get the Tekken 3 rom?

No ROM requests here, please. Take a look at the Forum Rules (http://forums.emulator-zone.com/rules.php)

Probably the RAM is slowing down your system, but SFA3 should work pretty good on your 1Ghz CPU, and perhaps UMK3 too.
