Sorry if this has been asked a ba-jillion times, but I have looked all over, and I havent seen anything like this before. x_x
Anyway, I tried to load up a FE6 ROM on my VBA, and I got an error that read: "Unsupported file type" and then It gave me the location of FE6 on my computer. Ive been using the VBA for a while now, to play FE6, and Ive never had this problem before. I dled another game, this time Golden Sun, and it worked fine the first time. I closed it, and when I tried to open it back up, I recieved said error. I tried again, this time with the sequel to GS, and the same thing happened. Ive tried to delete VBA, and re-install it, and that didnt work. I dont know what to do, because I didnt see anybody else with this problem on other FAQ/Forums.
My VBA version is 1.7.2.560.
Can anybody help me?

"FE6" is Fire Emblem 6 I think, although is not the exact name's game: I think 3 of this series have been made for GB, so go figure. "GS" might be Golden Sun.
Anyway, is you Rom Zipped, Rared or uncompressed? Please post the full name with extension of that files. Rared roms (.rar extension) won't work, so unrar and zip them (.gba extension) if you want to save some Mb.

FE6 does mean Fire Emblem 6, and theyve made 3 for the GBA, two of them released in the US. FE1-5 were on older systems, and FE6 was on the GBA, but only released in Japan. And I did mention that GS meant Golden Sun.
I dl'd the ROM and the translation patch, and theyve worked until a few days ago, when I started getting the error that "The file type is unsupported." It had worked perfectly before, and I hadnt changed the settings of anything, except renaming it from something retarded with unreadable symbols to "Fire Emblem 6", but that was before this started happening. I unrared them when I dled them,(I must have, because I wouldnt have been able to play it before), and I dont really care about the space, because its only one game.
I have no idea what youre talking about when you say "post the file name and extensions" so Ill just wait for your response.

On a file named "Fire Emblem 6.gba" , name would be "Fire EMblem 6" and extension ".gba".
So does the error shows on a Windows popup screen, or is an in game message?

I dont know about the extension, it just says "File", and its a Windows Popup Error.

Don't you know the full name of the file you're trying to run?

No, because I renamed it. x_x The name is currently "Fire Emblem 6 - Sword of Seals."
