Your system specs are far enough to run VBA smoothly, so this shouldn't be the problem. Anyway, update your videocard and sound drivers to the latest, as XP SP2 might have some problems with older drivers (I had some time ago). Also try another graphic mode (Menu "Video" -> "Render Method"). Btw, the latest 1.8.0 beta (http://emulator-zone.com/doc.php/gba/vboyadvance.html), so it might work better,
Otherwise, I'd say another program it's interfering with VBA.

Hello
thanks for your answer. :D
i already updated my video and soundcard.
But what do you mean by using another graphic mode.
I now have marked directdraw.
What will be a better option, direct3d or opengl.
And what do the other settings have to be ?
I also disconect the internet when playing .
thanks , andy

Use either VBA 1.7.1 or VBALink 1.7.3.
1.7.2 and 1.8b are buggy/run slow/have crackling music

Yes, this modes ( D3D, OGL ) might work better for you.
To make it smoother, set "Frameskip" value to "0" , enable "No Throttle" and "Synchronize, and disable "Auto Frame Skip"
Also this new derivate, VBA Smooth (http://vbasmooth.emulation64.com/), works good. make sure to download the latest version though

copy or move the your save files, you can set the directory to which your savesstates and BAtteries are located, then the emu will do the rest :D *if you know where the files are found/located; that is (normally, the emu would place the save files on the same directory of your roms)
menu >> options >>directories >>
>>>>>
battery "full path of directory"
save game " full path of directory"
