I am having problems with the SNES emulator (snes9x-1.43-win32) and my USB controller. I configured the pad under the Joypad portion, but the buttons just don't want to work. Am I not understanding something very obvious? Also, did anyone else have problems getting the buttons entered right?

Thank you!

Also, is there a better SNES emulator that the one I noted that works with a controller?

You guys rock.

Try ZSNES, one of the best snes emulators out there.

Did you correctly your input on the Snes9x "Input" -> "Joypad Configuration" screen? You need to click on the first key (up), then press the button/key you want for that virtual Snes pad, press another one on the next key until you finish.

Make sure you got the latest DirectX installed too.
