this MAME thing is pissing me off!

I just got MAME98 in and I click on a game, but it dosen't work! a little menu pops up and scans the game data and says I don't have it. what happened and why doesn't it work?

If you don't have the game (the ROM's game, usualy in a zip file) it won't work, also you need to place the roms and Bios if needed in your rompath or Mame "roms" subfolder. That's why not work.

Emulators make the computer act like the other hardware, arcade machines on Mame, but the hardware is useless woithput software, and that's waht the roms are.

...it is still messed up. I am trying to play M vs.C and it is still doing the same thing. Is it because I downloaded the MAME first, then got the rom or...

Please don't post where did you get your ROMS...

Make sure you rom is still "zipped" when you place it in the rom folder.
