it's just a computer drive. (i.e. C drive, D drive, etc.)

Um... If it's about a computer disk, it's on the wrong forum. A driver disk is a disc (floppy disk, CD, etc) that contains the necessary files to make it work. For example: If you buy a scanner, you'll see it has a disc containing the necessary files to make it work. It's called a Driver Disk.
An important point is not to mistake DRIVE with DRIVER. They're very different. DRIVE is what mhl12 said.
