Random slow-downs in MAME :(

I dunno what settings I've goofed up but I get random slow-downs in mame in games I've never had slow-downs in before.

I will go from 60fps to 5fps for a minute or two then it will speed up again.

Does anyone have any ideas wtf I can do to fix it?

Please post your PC specs plus the games are you are getting this problem

If your PC it's fast enough, I suggest you disable auto frame skipping, and if it's not so fast, disable vsync, but anyway keep throtle enabled ;)

2ghz Dell laptop.
512mb ram
winxp


I've never had this problem before until recently. The laptop is elevated with the fans able to breathe so overheating is not the issue.

All MAME games are affected, the fps will be fine and then drop to nothing even in areas where there is not a lot of action.

I updated video drivers and have no more problems. Intel "Extreme" Graphics suck!
