help graphics error

I have a nvidia ge force 5200, and when i open PJ64 it says excatly direct3d failed to instalize your HAL device make sure you configure blah, i download directx 3d, what the heck do i do next? any suggestions

well i fixed it but now i get an error when i open to rom, any suggestions

And most important... which version are you running?

I had exactly the same problem with v1.5, but when I upgraded to v1.6, not only the problem got solved, but the graphics are really nice.
