I consider my self an American, not because i suport George Bush or his stupid war; Not because I hate the french; And certinly not because I can own a gun. Do some of you people really know whats going on?

Mabey you saw some people in the middle east screaming and begging for god to take vengence on us. But as I look more and more into it I can understand why. Imagine your at a resturant that was just bombed by america whom of which thought mabey a dictator was dining there. Imagine your family was pulled from the wreckage dead, burned, severed at the head. I imagine i would want some kind of action taken. This is a true story. This mother watched as her daughter was pulled out of the wreckage of a resturant that WE, THE US! THE GOOD GUYS! bombed.

Hussein did not have weapons of mass destruction when we started this war. But yeah he did before, guess why... Reagen/Bush gave them to him so he could win the Iran/Iraq war in the 80's.

And its a good thing we have our great media coverage like Fox. Oh yea, they only try to make bush look good. They recently showed footage of Chirac (The ruler of France) meeting with Saddam in the 70's. BAD FRACE! OH MY GOD! THEY ARE EVIL! ... of course they forgot to show the repulican's beloved Donold Rumsfeld metting with Saddam in the 80's to discuss the Iran/Iraq war.

Did they ever find weapons of mass destruction in iraq? NO! WHAT ABOUT THE MOBILE LABS!? They were used for filling balloons. Conan O'brean calls these labs the WINDEBAGOS OF DEATH!

So why are we having this war? a mixture of ignorance of the people and the making of money in the government i would say.

I am only american because i was born here.... but i hope to move to New Zealand or Austrailia or somthing some day.

I'm sorry to read this. It's sad when Americans realize what their goverment has done. Its sad that my goverment is sucking up to yours :(

Anyway, let's not forget about the victims of September 11 as well.

I would like to see you prove that we gave them WMD. We gave them weapons, not Weapons of Mass Destruction. I agree with much of what you said. This was a unjust war. I also hate Bush. I just don't think you have your facts straight.

That's scary. :P I can understand why Gosia would be upset with our government. I am as well. I just don't think we need to go acussing the administration from the 80's of passing out atomic bombs without any proof.

This war against Saddam was stupid...
He didn't have weapons of muss destruction.
Remember what happened to the English jurnalist that found proof of this.
I don't like the fact that one that most likely will be the next governor in Greece likes USA very much.

They definitely weren't atomic bombs, I think Gosia is mixed up.

But it's a well known fact that the U.S. took Iraq's side when they were having that quarrel with Iran. We supplied them with various bombs to help them win. We also helped Iran because our government is full of stupid jackasses.

I hate the U.S. government and I hate 99% of the people living in the United States, and I live here, it's a shame really.

Jay
January 6th, 2004, 00:25
I was just being a bit sarcastic with the atomic bombs post. My point was that we supplied them with only weapons, nothing capable of what one would refer to as "Mass Destruction". I think we need to keep our noses out of the rest of the world's problems. We try to police the whole earth and we do a very poor job of it. I do however love this country and I have faith that even with our faults this is still a good place to live. I've never been what I would call poor and I've always been able to find work. I do hope that we get someone new in he White House next time. Perhaps it will be fair this time, eh?

That wasn't a reporter, it was Dr. David Kelly from the Ministry of Defence. He was our WoMD expert. He went for a walk one night and was next seen dead in the woods with his wrists slashed.

I got the idea that America gave Iraq biological weapons from Michael Moore's great new book Dude Where's My Country. And i have emailed him a request for a source. Hes a bussy guy but lets see if we get a response.

www.michaelmoore.com
- check it out if you havnt heard of this guy. He kicks ass.

Jay
January 7th, 2004, 04:35
There could very well be a difference between biological weapons and weapons of mass destruction depending on the weapon. A biological weapon may or may not cause what would be considered mass destruction. I also don't believe that we gave the biological weapons, however. It was most likely short range missiles, small bombs and the like.

EDIT: Voting is a good thing. :)

Its good to check and double check on important issues that affect everyone and everyone in the future. Regardless of your hate for the blubbering fat idiot hipicrat man Michael Moore i believe strongly that his books have lots of thourghts that should most certinly be looked into.

Use a Word Processor, your grammar/spelling makes me sick.

Anyways....FACTS? What are you talking about? I've seen Bowling For Columbine, and it was pretty ordinary.

"Canadians never lock their door" - first of all, how can that prick say that the majority of people never lock their doors? Who does he think he is? Because he talked to like two people, he speaks for an entire nation? RIGHT, that's a fact and a half, there. I lock my door, and so do the rest of the people in my neighbourhood.

His documentries consist of interviewing many people, and only showing the people that express his point. That's how documentries work, idiot.

He's not a rebel for putting a Ramones song in his movie. He's not a hero for going to Charelton Heston's mansion and putting a picture of a dead girl on the ground by his house. He's a pretentious bastard.

His movie brought nothing new to the subject of guns, people use guns because they're afraid. CORRECT. If you were living in the Project's in downtown Chigago, would you not be scared for your protection?

On the subject of the gun that kid brought to school: what if he brought a "toy" knife to school? And "pretended" to stab one of his peers? The fact is, he could have left anything dangerous out. It's the Uncles fault, not the fucking Gun industry.

No one ever said he was a hypocrite, by the way.

What Michael Moore does is make outrageous statements that are in direct contradiction of the statements that right-wing extremists (Rush Limbaugh, for example) make every day. While he certainly takes liberties with the truth, so does every pundit in Washington. Sometimes you have to fight fire with fire, and when people hear the things he said, they are (hopefully) inspired to do their own research on the subject to discover what's really true.

Maybe he's a fat (since when was that a crime?) propaghanda-spewing radical leftist. That doesn't change the fact that a bank in Michigan hands out guns to people who open new accounts, or that there are crazy militant inbreds who think that assault rifles are appropriate means of personal security. He's doing the exact same thing that Oliver Stone has done with nearly every film he's made: offsetting the Republican bias in the media. Stone's JFK was never meant to be the "true" story of that assassination, but an overview of some of the theories behind the conspiracies and a way to make people ask "what really happened?" It's a film with a clear intent to spark social interest and debate, and I think that that's exactly what Bowling For Columbine is, too. Moore doesn't care if you think that he's right, what he wants to do is create an uproar. If the social climate becomes muddied enough with the issues, than people can't look the other way anymore. Action will have to be taken, just like it had to be taken in the 60's when extremists like Malcolm X spoke out against racism and "the man".

So please, don't call him an idiot or a kife. He knows what he's exactly what he's doing, and if you could undertand that then you'd respect him.

Jet Set Willy
January 7th, 2004, 06:54
He could be accused of passive agressive moral-mongering though.

Still, the fact that banks in America hand out guns is incomprehensible to me.

He does a similar thing to what Moore does, but without setting up the situation on purpose. He'll live with the person he's interviewing and take a small film crew, and through his inquisitive acceptance of the interviewee he'll expose them through false naivety. Best thing on television. I doubt that he'll ever be seen on foreign television unfortunately.

"From the frighteningly deluded to the mildly eccentric, Louis always finds some way to connect with the people he meets and as a result the series continues to rise above any desire to become overly voyeuristic, to patronise or to judge."
