opening a *.sav file

i downloaded certain game files from emulator-zone.com. but on unzipping it i found it to be a *.sav file. how do i open it? i tried using visual boy advance but is gives an error.

u need 2 have the rom(game) and run it then load the save file

In other words :p you DIDN'T downloaded a game, but a save file. You need to get the game somewhere :)
