Hi,

I downloaded KGen 98 it's a Sega Emulator and I was wondering if anyone could help me with this error im getting...

System file is not suitable for running MSDOS and micrsoft windows applications.

If anyone knows how to fix this that would help alot.
Thanks in advance.

Youre most likely using XP and the emulator was made for older OS's.
Just download a newer Sega emulator here.

Hmmm... that might get the games going, but it won't fix the underlying problem.

You're running XP right? You probably find that "c:\windows\system32\autoexec.nt" is missing. Do a search for it, you should find a copy in some "Repair" folder. Copy it to c:\windows\system32 folder, and then (with the new file) right-click, properties, and make it read-only. After that, your Kgen should work as expected.

The problem occurs because XP in its wisdom deletes the file for no reason, and it's needed to run any 16-bit program. Making it read-only stops it happening again.

Unless you got a PI @90Mhz it's no use to play Kgen98, it's discontinued, outdated and don't fit on XP as most DOS applications. The legacy of Kgen relays now on Kega, from Steve Snake too.
