Somtimes when I play .avi files my computer freezes up... Anyone know why this might be happening? It's only just started doing this.

-thx

It seems it's a codec problem. Is it a divx movie? try re-installing divx.

How big is the file? It needs a lot of memory to read the whole file before it could be viewed on the player itself. The bigger the file, the larger the memory be needed (and higher your PC could be freezed.)

Try to use Media Player Classic as my recommendation. ;)

It's not Windows Media Player Classic, it's just Media Player Classic (http://sourceforge.net/projects/guliverkli/) (MPC). It' has nothing to with M$ (fortunately), and it's way better

And support any video and audio format as well. ;)
